Château Capbern is a prestigious wine estate located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. Historically known as Château Capbern Gasqueton, the estate has a long-standing reputation for producing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends. The vineyard benefits from the unique gravelly soil of the Médoc region, which contributes to the structured and age-worthy character of the wine. All production, from grape harvesting to bottling (Mis en bouteille au château), takes place on the estate in France.
In 2012, the estate underwent a significant change in ownership when it was acquired from the Gasqueton family by the French insurance group Suravenir, a subsidiary of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa. This acquisition also included the famous third-growth estate Château Calon Ségur. Under the management of Suravenir, the estate has seen modern technical improvements while maintaining its traditional Bordeaux heritage. The brand continues to be a staple of the Saint-Estèphe region, offering a classic expression of the local terroir.
