Ritter Sport is an iconic German chocolate brand established in 1912 by Alfred and Clara Ritter. The 'Alpenmilch' (Alpine Milk) variant showcased is one of their flagship recipes, known for its distinctive 100g square shape which was invented in 1932 to fit into a sport jacket pocket without breaking.
Unlike many global snack brands, Ritter Sport remains a family-owned independent company. All production is concentrated in Waldenbuch, Germany, where the company maintains a strong focus on sustainability, including high standards for certified sustainable cocoa and carbon-neutral production processes. The brand's ownership has been passed down through generations and is currently managed by the third and fourth generations of the Ritter family.
