Leo Beer is one of Thailand's most iconic and widely consumed pale lagers. It was launched in 1999 by the Boon Rawd Brewery, the same company behind the legendary Singha beer. While Singha is often marketed as the premium, heritage-focused brand, Leo was strategically introduced to compete in the more accessible, mass-market segment. It quickly became a local favorite recognized for its distinctive red label featuring a leopard (not a lion, despite the name 'Leo').
The brand's history is deeply intertwined with that of its parent company, Boon Rawd Brewery, which was founded in 1933 as the first brewery in Thailand. Leo is brewed at several state-of-the-art facilities across Thailand, including the Boon Rawd brewery in Pathum Thani and Khon Kaen. It remains a family-owned enterprise, with the Bhirom Bhakdi family maintaining control through successive generations. Today, Leo holds a significant share of the domestic market and is exported to over 50 countries globally, symbolizing the vibrant and sociable spirit of Thai beer culture.
