SUBE transport card

SUBE (Sistema Único de Boleto Electrónico) is the standard contactless smart card system used for public transportation throughout Argentina. Initially launched in 2009 for the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, it has since expanded to dozens of cities across the country.

The system was established by the Argentine government to streamline fare collection for buses, trains, and subways. The cards are manufactured locally and managed by Nación Servicios S.A., a state-owned subsidiary of the Banco de la Nación Argentina. It serves as a critical piece of national infrastructure, enabling millions of daily commutes via a single unified payment method.
