Gazelle is one of the most iconic beer brands in Senegal, deeply rooted in the country's social culture since it was first launched over half a century ago. It is particularly famous for its large 63cl format, often referred to as a 'Flag' companion, though Gazelle is typically favored for its lighter, refreshing profile which is well-suited to the West African climate.

The beer is brewed and bottled domestically in Senegal, primarily at the facilities operated by the Société de Limonaderies et Brasseries d'Afrique (SOBOA) in Dakar. This local production ensures the beverage remains a staple in local markets and hospitality venues across the nation.

Ownership of the brand lies with the Castel Group, a French industrial powerhouse that acquired SOBOA and many other African breweries. Through its strategic management and extensive distribution networks, Castel has maintained Gazelle's position as a leading affordable lager, ensuring its identity remains tied to its Senegalese heritage even under international corporate ownership.
