Quorn is a pioneering brand in the meat alternative market, famous for using mycoprotein as its primary ingredient. The brand was originally developed in the United Kingdom through a joint venture between Marlow Foods, Rank Hovis McDougall, and Imperial Chemical Industries.
The majority of Quorn's production continues to take place in North Yorkshire, England, where the specialized fermentation process for mycoprotein occurs. Since 2015, the brand has been owned by Monde Nissin, a major food company based in the Philippines, which acquired it to expand its portfolio into the sustainable protein sector. This acquisition positioned Quorn as a leading global brand in the ovo-vegetarian meal category.
