SB12 (known as CB12 in some markets) is a premium oral care brand specifically formulated to prevent halitosis by neutralizing odorous sulfur gases. The brand was originally developed by Swedish researchers at the University of Oslo and the Swedish pharmaceutical company Meda AB. Manufacturing occurs across multiple European locations depending on the specific product format.
In 2016, the American pharmaceutical giant Mylan acquired Meda AB for nearly $10 billion, bringing SB12 under its umbrella. Following the 2020 merger between Mylan and Pfizer's Upjohn division, the brand became part of Viatris Inc. This global healthcare company is headquartered in the United States and manages a vast portfolio of generic and specialty medicines.
