Iodex is a long-standing pain relief brand originally developed in the United Kingdom by Smith, Kline & French over a century ago. It is famous for its distinct dark balm used to treat muscular pains and inflammation. Today, while it has a global legacy, it is most prominent in the Indian market.
The brand has undergone several corporate transitions. For many years, it was part of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare. Following a major spin-off in 2022, the consumer health division of GSK became Haleon. As of 2025 and beyond, Haleon remains the ultimate owner and global manufacturer of Iodex products. Manufacturing for the Southeast Asian and Indian markets takes place primarily in India, while other regions are supplied by localized production facilities.
