Brand History and Evolution

POC was founded in 2005 in Sweden by Stefan Ytterborn, with a dedicated mission to save lives and reduce the consequences of accidents for athletes and cyclists. The brand quickly gained international recognition for its minimalist Aesthetic combined with advanced scientific safety features, often collaborating with medical experts to develop its MIPS technology and high-performance gear.

Ownership and Acquisition

Though it started as an independent Swedish company, POC has seen several changes in ownership. It was acquired by Black Diamond Inc. in 2012 before being sold to Investcorp in 2015. Today, POC is part of a larger portfolio of sports brands, operating as a subsidiary while maintaining its Swedish headquarters to preserve its original design philosophy.

Manufacturing and Global Presence

While POC designs and engineers its products at its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, the physical manufacturing occurs across various specialized facilities in China, Vietnam, and Italy.
