Meira Ketchup is a household staple in Finland, known for its high tomato content and lack of preservatives. The brand Meira has a long-standing history dating back to 1913, rooted in Helsinki, Finland. It was originally established as part of the Finnish cooperative movement and has since become one of the country's most recognized food and coffee brands.
Today, Meira's food products, including its popular ketchup, are manufactured at their production facilities in Vallila, Helsinki. The packaging features the Key Flag Symbol (Avainlippu), which certifies that the product is made in Finland and contributes to Finnish employment. Although the brand remains deeply Finnish in its operations and identity, it is currently owned by the Italian Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, which acquired Meira in 2002 to expand its presence in Northern Europe.
