Gevalia is a renowned coffee brand that originated in Gävle, Sweden, in 1853. Founded by Victor Theodor Engwall, the brand name stems from the Latin name for the city of Gävle. For over 150 years, it has been a staple of Swedish coffee culture and was even appointed as a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden.

Today, Gevalia is part of JDE Peet's, a global coffee and tea powerhouse. While the brand has expanded significantly into North America and other international markets, its core Scandinavian operations remain deeply rooted in Sweden. The coffee shown here, the 'Mörkrost Ebony' (Dark Roast), is primarily produced and roasted at the company's historic facility in Gävle, which remains one of the largest coffee roasteries in Northern Europe.
