Camper is a contemporary footwear brand hailing from the island of Mallorca, Spain. Founded in 1975 by Lorenzo Fluxà, the brand's roots go back much further to 1877 when his grandfather started the first sewing machine factory in the country. The Peu Cami is one of their most iconic models, designed with a focus on ergonomics and Mediterranean style. While the brand is deeply Spanish in heritage and design, its manufacturing is decentralized across several countries, primarily in Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, to meet global demand while maintaining European quality standards.
The brand remains a family-owned business, currently under the ultimate ownership of the Fluxà family through the company Camper (Fornut SA). It has grown into a global powerhouse with stores in major cities worldwide, known for its creative retail concepts and collaborations with modern designers. Ownership and creative direction reside in Inca, Mallorca, preserving the brand's local identity despite its international reach.
