Tim Tam is an iconic brand of chocolate biscuits originally introduced by the Australian company Arnott's in 1964. The biscuits were named by Ross Arnott after the winning horse at the 1958 Kentucky Derby. They consist of two malted biscuits separated by a light chocolate cream filling and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate.
While the brand remains a cultural staple of Australia, its ownership has transitioned over the decades to large multinational investment firms. In 2019, Arnott's was acquired from Campbell Soup Company by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), a prominent American global investment firm. Today, Tim Tams are primarily manufactured in Australia (specifically at bakeries in Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane), though some production exists internationally to serve specific regional markets like Indonesia.
