K-Salat, originally known as Københavns Salatfabrik, is a quintessential Danish brand founded in 1937. It established a strong reputation for producing traditional mayonnaise-based salad spreads that became staples in Danish households. Throughout its history, the brand has remained closely tied to its Danish roots, with production taking place locally in Denmark at its facility in Havnsø.

The brand has undergone changes in corporate ownership over the years. Following a period under the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla, the brand was acquired by the Dutch food group Stryhns Gruppen, which is itself part of the larger Danish-based holdings but operates under the umbrella of the Norwegian Agra AS group. Today, Agra AS serves as the ultimate owner, managing the brand through its Danish subsidiary, Stryhns Gruppen. Despite these international corporate structures, K-Salat remains a leading brand in the Danish market, maintaining its traditional production methods and local identity.
