Lithells is one of Sweden’s oldest and most recognizable food brands, primarily known for its sausages and traditional meat products. Founded by Oskar Lithell in 1907 in Sköllersta, the brand became synonymous with the 'Sibylla' hot dog, which it launched in 1932. To this day, the brand maintains a strong association with Swedish culinary traditions and local production.
The manufacturing process remains deeply rooted in Sweden, with the primary production facility located in Sköllersta, just outside Örebro. The brand emphasizes the use of Swedish meat and high-quality ingredients, catering to both the retail consumer market and the professional food service sector.
In terms of ownership, Lithells is currently part of the Atria Group portfolio. Atria, a major Finnish food industry corporation, acquired the company through its Swedish operations (Atria Sweden). This ownership structure allows Lithells to benefit from a vast Nordic distribution network while maintaining its distinct Swedish heritage and local manufacturing footprint.
