Stokke is a globally recognized Norwegian brand, renowned for its ergonomic and stylish children's furniture and equipment. The company was founded by Georg Stokke in Sunnmøre, Norway, in 1932. Historically, it focused on bus seats and adult furniture before revolutionizing the market in 1972 with the launch of the Tripp Trapp chair, designed by Peter Opsvik.

While the brand's design and heritage remain deeply rooted in Norway, manufacturing is largely decentralized across Europe, specifically in Romania, to maintain high quality and sustainable wood sourcing standards. Since 2014, Stokke has been under the ownership of NXMH, an investment firm that manages the wealth of NXC (the holding company of Korean gaming giant Nexon). Despite the shift in ownership to a Korean-owned entity, the company continues to operate from its headquarters in Ålesund, Norway, maintaining its Scandinavian design philosophy.
