Prince is a historical Danish cigarette brand launched in 1957 by Chr. Augustine's Fabrikker in Copenhagen. For decades, it was a symbol of Danish tobacco culture and captured a significant portion of the local market. In the 1960s, a joint venture called Skandinavisk Tobakskompagni (Scandinavian Tobacco Company) took over the brand's production. In 2008, the international tobacco giant British American Tobacco (BAT) acquired the cigarette division of Scandinavian Tobacco Company, which included the Prince brand. Today, while Prince remains an iconic name in Denmark and Sweden, the manufacturing has largely shifted to BAT's regional production hubs, particularly in Poland. The brand is now part of BAT's extensive global portfolio of tobacco and nicotine products.
