Sensodyne is a globally recognized brand specializing in oral care for sensitive teeth. It was originally launched in 1961 by Block Drug, a US-based company that pioneered the use of strontium chloride in toothpaste formulations to alleviate dental sensitivity. In 2001, Block Drug was acquired by the British pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

In July 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into a new independent company named Haleon. Consequently, Sensodyne is now a flagship brand under Haleon plc. Manufacturing for Sensodyne products is highly decentralized, with major production facilities located in the United Kingdom, Slovakia, and various other regions to serve local markets worldwide.
