Lillet Rosé is a premium wine-based aperitif produced in Podensac, a small village south of Bordeaux, France. The brand was founded in 1872 by brothers Raymond and Paul Lillet, originally as Lillet Frères. Known for its citrus-forward and floral profile, it is crafted from a blend of selected wines from the Bordeaux region mixed with fruit liqueurs and cinchona bark.
Since 2008, the brand has been under the ownership of the French beverage giant Pernod Ricard. While the brand has global distribution, all production remains strictly tied to its historical cellars in Podensac to maintain the 'Appellation d'Origine' quality. Lillet Rosé was specifically launched in 2011 to cater to international markets seeking a lighter, fresher alternative to the classic Lillet Blanc.
