Argus is a private label beer brand specifically developed for the supermarket chain Lidl. The brand was created to provide a value-priced alternative to international lager brands, matching the 'private label' strategy common in European discount retail.

Because Argus is a retailer-owned brand rather than a brewery-owned brand, it does not have a single dedicated factory. Instead, Lidl contracts several major industrial breweries across Europe to produce the beer according to their specifications.
