SAP Enterprise Software

SAP is a global leader in enterprise application software, originally founded in 1972 by five former IBM engineers in Weinheim, Germany. The company’s name stands for 'Systemanalyse Programmentwicklung' (System Analysis Program Development). Today, SAP is headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, and serves as the backbone for business operations across nearly every industry worldwide.

As a software company, SAP does not have a traditional physical manufacturing location; instead, its products are developed, hosted, and maintained across a global network of data centers and research facilities. While the core development remains centered in Germany, significant engineering and cloud operations are distributed across the United States, India, China, and various European nations. SAP remains an independent publicly traded company (SAP SE) and is the most valuable technology company in the European Union.
