BQ (originally Mundo Reader S.L.) was a prominent Spanish technology company founded in Madrid in 2010. The brand initially gained significant traction in the European market by offering high-quality, affordable consumer electronics including e-readers (such as the Cervantes series), smartphones, and tablets. Their e-readers were particularly notable for their open-source focus and integration with local digital libraries.

While the design and software engineering were largely handled in Spain, the physical manufacturing of BQ e-readers was primarily outsourced to specialized electronics manufacturing hubs in China. This model allowed the company to keep costs competitive while maintaining a unique software experience.

In 2018, the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup acquired a majority stake (51%) in BQ, primarily to revitalize its own smartphone division under the VinSmart brand. By 2026, BQ as a consumer-facing brand has largely transitioned into a supportive role for larger industrial and smart-technology ventures under Vingroup's portfolio, with the original Spanish entity having moved away from active consumer hardware retail.
