Excedrin Migraine Relief

Excedrin is an American brand of over-the-counter headache and pain relief medication. It was originally launched by Bristol-Myers in 1960 as a combination tablet containing aspirin, paracetamol (acetaminophen), and caffeine. This specific formula was the first multi-ingredient headache medication to be approved by the FDA for the treatment of migraine pain.

Over the decades, the brand underwent significant corporate transitions. In 2005, Novartis acquired Excedrin from Bristol-Myers Squibb as part of its consumer health portfolio. Eventually, Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) formed a joint venture that included Excedrin. Following the 2022 demerger of GSK's consumer healthcare division, Excedrin became part of Haleon, an independent multi-national consumer healthcare company. Today, Excedrin remains a market leader in migraine management and is manufactured primarily in specialized pharmaceutical facilities in the United States to serve North American markets.
