KIND snack bars were founded in 2004 by Daniel Lubetzky in New York City with the goal of creating nutrient-dense snacks using whole nuts and fruits. The brand gained immense popularity for its transparent packaging and commitment to being 'kind to your body, your taste buds, and the world.'

In 2017, Mars, Inc. acquired a minority stake in the company to help expand its global distribution. By 2020, Mars completed its acquisition, bringing the brand under its global Health & Wellness platform. Today, KIND products are distributed globally and manufactured primarily in the United States, though production has expanded to various international regions to meet local demand while maintaining consistent quality standards.
