Paddy Old Irish Whiskey

Paddy Old Irish Whiskey is one of the most storied spirits in Ireland, with a history dating back to 1779 when it was produced by the Cork Distilleries Company. The whiskey was originally known as Cork Distilleries Company Old Irish Whiskey, but it was renamed in 1912 in honor of its legendary salesman, Patrick 'Paddy' Flaherty. Flaherty became famous throughout County Cork for buying rounds of drinks for patrons to promote the brand, leading customers to constantly ask for 'Paddy's Whiskey'.

For most of the 20th century, Paddy was a flagship brand of Irish Distillers. However, in 2016, the brand was acquired by Sazerac, an American spirits conglomerate, as part of a strategic expansion into the Irish whiskey category. Today, while the ownership has shifted to the United States, the whiskey continues to be produced and triple-distilled at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland, preserving its authentic heritage and smooth profile.
