Tanora Origin and Heritage

Tanora is a carbonated soft drink with a unique tangerine flavor that is deeply rooted in Irish culture, particularly in Cork. It was originally created by the John Daly & Co. company on Kyrl's Quay in Cork in the late 1920s. Over the decades, it has become a regional icon, often referred to as the traditional drink of Cork city and county.

Manufacturing and Ownership

Historically produced by beverage manufacturers in Ireland, the brand became part of the Cantrell & Cochrane (C&C) Group portfolio through various mergers and acquisitions. Today, the product continues to be manufactured in Ireland, maintaining its localized appeal and original recipe characteristics.

Since 2011, the ownership of the Tanora brand has resided with Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (Coca-Cola HBC) through its subsidiary, Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland. Despite its global ownership, the drink remains a niche, regional product with limited distribution outside of the island of Ireland, focusing primarily on its historical heartland in Munster.
