Cholula Hot Sauce is a globally recognized condiment brand famous for its iconic wooden cap and Mexican heritage. Named after the 2,500-year-old city of Cholula in Puebla, Mexico, the sauce was originally created by the Harrison family as an ingredient in sangrita. It was introduced to the United States market in the late 1980s by the Jose Cuervo family. The sauce is well-regarded for its balanced flavor profile, combining arbol and piquin peppers with a proprietary blend of spices.

Historically manufactured in Chapala, Jalisco, the production remains deeply rooted in Mexico to maintain its authentic taste. While the brand flourished under various ownership groups over the decades, it reached a major milestone in late 2020 when it was acquired by the global flavor giant McCormick & Company. Today, Cholula is distributed worldwide, maintaining its position as one of the top-selling hot sauce brands across international markets while still being produced in its home country of Mexico.
