Don Julio Reposado Tequila

Don Julio is one of the world's most recognizable premium tequila brands, founded in 1942 by Don Julio González in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Specifically, the Reposado variety is aged for eight months in American white-oak barrels, which gives it its golden color and rich finish.

All Don Julio tequila is produced in the Highlands of Jalisco, where the brand's distillery, La Primavera, is located. The production process remains rooted in Mexican tradition, using 100% blue agave harvested at peak ripeness.

Historically, the brand was a passion project of founder Don Julio González-Frausto Estrada. In the early 2000s, global spirits giant Diageo entered a joint venture for the brand, eventually gaining full control of the brand in 2015 through an asset swap with Casa Cuervo. Today, Don Julio is a flagship label in Diageo's luxury tequila portfolio, managed from their global headquarters in London.
