Toro is an iconic Norwegian brand, well-known for being at the heart of household cooking since its inception. The brand was founded in 1946 by Rieber & Søn in Bergen, Norway, initially focusing on meat extracts before revolutionizing the market with dehydrated soups and sauces.

Today, Toro remains a dominant force in the Nordic food industry, particularly in Norway. While the brand was originally family-owned by the Rieber family, it was acquired by the multinational conglomerate Orkla in 2012. Most Toro products, including its liquid and powdered sauces, are manufactured at the primary production facility in Arna, outside of Bergen. This local production underscores the brand's long-standing connection to Norwegian culinary tradition and its commitment to regional manufacturing standards.
