Alpro is a pioneering brand in the plant-based industry, originally founded in Belgium in 1980 by Philippe Vandemoortele. It has grown into a global leader for dairy alternatives, offering products made from soy, almonds, oats, and coconuts.

Today, Alpro is owned by Danone, the French multinational food-products corporation, which acquired the brand through its purchase of WhiteWave Foods in 2017.
