Cool Whip Original whipped topping

Cool Whip is a classic American brand of imitation whipped cream, currently owned by the Kraft Heinz Company. It was originally launched in 1966 by the Birds Eye division of General Foods. The product was revolutionary at its time because it was marketed as a non-dairy topping that could be distributed frozen, allowing for a long shelf life compared to real cream toppings.

Today, Cool Whip is primarily manufactured in the United States, specifically in Mason City, Iowa, which has been its primary production hub for decades. While originally introduced by General Foods, through a series of corporate mergers, the brand moved to Philip Morris (now Altria), then to Kraft Foods, and finally settled under the Kraft Heinz Company umbrella following the 2015 merger of Kraft and Heinz.
