Radisson is a globally recognized hospitality brand that provides premium lodging experiences across several continents. The brand's history is rooted in American hospitality, with its first hotel opening in Minneapolis in 1909, named after the French explorer Pierre-Esprit Radisson. Over the decades, it grew into one of the most prominent hotel groups in the world, expanding its portfolio to include various sub-brands such as Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, and Radisson Collection.

The ownership of Radisson has undergone significant transitions in recent years. While formerly part of the Carlson Companies based in the United States, the brand was acquired by the HNA Group and subsequently by a consortium led by Jin Jiang International, a state-owned enterprise from China. In 2022, a major strategic shift occurred when Choice Hotels International acquired the Radisson Hotels business in the Americas (including the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean). This effectively split the brand’s management based on geography.

Today, the Radisson brand is managed by Choice Hotels International in the Americas region, while the Radisson Hotel Group (controlled by Jin Jiang) manages operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. This dual ownership structure allows the brand to maintain a local presence while leveraging the massive global infrastructure of two of the world's largest hotel companies.
