Davert Echter Basmati Reis

Davert is a pioneer in the organic food industry, specifically known for its extensive range of grains, pulses, and seeds. This 'Echter Basmati Reis' (Genuine Basmati Rice) is cultivated in dedicated organic farming projects in India, often following Demeter biodynamic guidelines and Fairtrade standards. While the rice is grown in South Asia, the final cleaning, processing, and packaging usually take place at Davert's facility in Ascheberg, Germany.

Founded in 1984 by Rainer Welke, Davert has long been a staple in German health food stores (Bioläden). In 2017, the brand was acquired by Midsona AB, a leading Nordic organic and health products group. This transition moved the brand's ultimate ownership to Sweden, though Davert continues to operate as a central unit for Midsona's organic dry goods operations across Europe.
