Rügen Fisch is a traditional German brand specializing in high-quality canned fish products, particularly herring, mackerel, and sprats. The brand's history is deeply rooted in the island of Rügen on the Baltic Sea coast, where its main production facility in Sassnitz has operated for decades as one of the most modern fish processing plants in Europe.

Originally established as a regional producer in East Germany, the company expanded significantly following the German reunification. In 2021, the brand's parent company, Rügen Fisch AG, was fully acquired by the Thai Union Group, a global leader in the seafood industry based in Thailand. Despite this international ownership, Rügen Fisch continues to maintain its strong German heritage and focuses on local manufacturing standards at its primary sites in Germany and Lithuania.
