Denon ADV-M71 DVD Surround Receiver

Denon is a historic Japanese electronics brand with deep roots in audio technology, dating back to 1910 when it started as part of Nippon Chikuonki Shokai. Over the decades, Denon became a pioneer in digital audio technology. The ADV-M71 is a compact DVD surround receiver produced during the 2000s, designed to combine high-fidelity audio with video playback in a small form factor.

While the brand originated in Japan, manufacturing for consumer-grade systems like the ADV-M71 was primarily moved to specialized facilities in China to optimize production costs while maintaining Japanese engineering standards. Ownership of the brand has evolved significantly: after merging with Marantz to form D&M Holdings, the brand was acquired by Sound United in 2017. In 2022, Sound United was itself acquired by Masimo Corporation, a global medical technology company based in the United States, which now oversees Denon as part of its consumer audio division.
