Marabou Lakrits, Hallon & Caramel chocolate bar

Marabou is a legendary Swedish chocolate brand with a heritage dating back to 1916. Originally founded by the Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst, the brand was established in Sundbyberg, Sweden, because the name of his original Norwegian brand, Freia, was already registered in Sweden. Over the decades, Marabou has become a quintessential part of Swedish culture, known for its distinctive 'M' logo and smooth milk chocolate.

Today, Marabou is owned by the global snacking giant Mondelez International. While the brand maintains its deep Swedish roots and continues to produce most of its primary products at its factory in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, the ownership transitioned through several acquisitions, moving from the original family ownership to Kraft Foods and later spinning off into Mondelez.
