Sorig Tibetan Incense is a traditional product produced by the Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical and Astro-Science Institute). This institute was established by the 13th Dalai Lama in Tibet and later re-established in Dharamshala, India, by the 14th Dalai Lama following the 1959 Tibetan uprising. The incense is crafted based on ancient Tibetan medicinal formulas found in texts like the 'Gyü-zhi' (Four Tantras).

The manufacturing process takes place primarily in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India, which serves as the headquarters for the Tibetan government-in-exile. The incense is known for using natural herbs and minerals from the Himalayan region, adhering to strict traditional methods without synthetic chemical additives. It remains under the ownership and guidance of the Men-Tsee-Khang institute, which functions as a non-profit autonomous body dedicated to preserving Tibetan culture and healthcare.
