After Eight is a globally recognized brand known for its thin dark chocolate mints. Introduced in 1962, the brand was originally created by Rowntree & Co. Ltd. in the United Kingdom as a sophisticated after-dinner treat. The Strawberry & Mint variety shown here is a modern flavor extension of the classic fondant-filled chocolate.
While originally a British invention, the brand's ownership shifted in 1988 when Rowntree's was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé. Today, After Eight products are primarily manufactured at Nestlé's specialized confectionery facility in Hamburg, Germany, which supplies most of the European market. The brand continues to maintain its prestige through its iconic clock logo and dark green packaging, remaining one of Nestlé's core global confectionery brands.
