Augustiner Weissbier

Augustiner-Bräu is Munich's oldest independent brewery, dating back to 1328 when it was established within the Augustinian monastery near the Munich Cathedral. The brand is renowned for its traditional brewing methods and historical significance in Bavarian culture.

Unlike many large German breweries that have been acquired by multinational conglomerates, Augustiner remains fiercely independent. The majority of the company is owned by the Edith-Haberland-Wagner Foundation, which ensures that the brewery's profits are reinvested into cultural preservation and charitable causes rather than distant shareholders.

The Weissbier (wheat beer) featured is brewed exclusively in Munich, adhering strictly to the Reinheitsgebot (German Purity Law). Its production is characterized by long-term storage and maturation, maintaining a reputation for high quality that relies on word-of-mouth rather than major advertising campaigns.
