Sanex is a well-established personal care brand that originated in Spain in 1984. It was specifically developed as a dermatologically-focused soap-free bath and shower range. The brand has a strong heritage in the European market, particularly in Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Denmark, where it is known for its skin-friendly pH-balanced formulas.

Over the years, the ownership of Sanex has transitioned through major global corporations. Originally created by the Spanish company Cruz Verde, it was later acquired by the Sara Lee Corporation. In 2011, the global consumer goods giant Colgate-Palmolive acquired Sanex from Unilever (who had briefly held it following a deal with Sara Lee). Today, Colgate-Palmolive manages the brand's production and distribution globally. While manufacturing largely occurs in Italy for the European market, the brand remains a flagship under the American-based Colgate-Palmolive umbrella.
