Woolrich outdoor apparel and blankets

Founded in 1830 by John Rich and Daniel McCormick, Woolrich is the oldest manufacturer of outdoor wear in the United States. Originally started as a wool mill in Pennsylvania to provide fabric for hunters and loggers, the brand became legendary for its 'Arctic Parka' and iconic red-and-black buffalo check plaid.

Over the years, the brand underwent significant corporate changes to adapt to the global market. In 2018, the investment firm L-Gaml acquired a majority stake in Woolrich International (a merger between the original American branch and its European distributor). Today, while the brand maintains its historical heritage in the United States, its ownership and design leadership are largely centralized under European and Asian investment groups, with manufacturing distributed globally across Europe and Asia.
