CoffeeB is a revolutionary single-serve coffee system developed by the Swiss retail giant Migros under its brand Cafe Royal. This product represents a collaboration with the German heritage brand Melitta to expand the CoffeeB ecosystem. Unlike traditional coffee capsules, these are 'coffee balls' wrapped in a thin, seaweed-based functional layer, making them completely garden compostable.

The manufacturing occurs in Switzerland at Migros's specialized production facilities (Delica AG). The brand Melitta itself originated in Minden, Germany, founded by Melitta Bentz. While Melitta remains a family-owned German company, the CoffeeB technology and system proprietary rights belong to the Swiss Federation of Migros Cooperatives.
