Fisher & Paykel is a premium appliance brand that originated in New Zealand in 1934. Founded by Sir Woolf Fisher and Maurice Paykel, the company built its reputation on innovative engineering and design, most notably pioneering the 'DishDrawer' dishwasher technology. For decades, it was a symbol of New Zealand industrial ingenuity.

In 2012, the company underwent a major ownership shift when it was acquired by the Chinese multinational Haier Group. Despite this change in ownership, Fisher & Paykel maintains its global headquarters and primary design and research centers in Auckland, New Zealand. This allows the brand to retain its unique design identity and high-end market positioning.

While the company has deep roots in New Zealand, its manufacturing footprint is now truly global. While some components and R&D remain in its home country, high-volume production facilities are located in Thailand, Mexico, China, and Italy (via its subsidiary Elba). This global supply chain allows the brand to serve international markets while leveraging Haier's extensive logistics and manufacturing infrastructure.
