Unox soup and canned food

Unox is an established Dutch brand that has become a staple in European kitchens, particularly in the Netherlands. Founded in 1937, it is most famous for its traditional Dutch 'Rookworst' (smoked sausage), as well as an extensive range of canned and pouched soups and pasta sauces. The brand emphasizes local heritage and comfort food classics, often associating itself with winter traditions and outdoor activities.

While the brand was originally part of the Lever & Unilever group, it has recently undergone a significant ownership change. In late 2021/early 2022, Unilever completed the sale of its global tea business (including Lipton) and began restructuring its food portfolio to focus on high-growth areas. Within this context, the Unox brand remains part of the Unilever portfolio in most markets, though it operates under the 'Nutrition' business group which maintains a strong production presence in Europe.

Manufacturing for Unox products occurs across multiple sites to ensure regional freshness. A significant portion of production remains in the Netherlands, particularly at the Oss factory, which has been the heart of Unox operations for decades. Other products for the international market may be sourced from Unilever facilities across the European Union.
