Beck's German Pilsner

Beck's is a world-renowned pilsner brand that traces its history back to June 1873 in Bremen, Germany. Founded originally as Brauerei Beck & May, and later becoming Brauerei Beck & Co, the brand is famous for its distinctive green bottle and the 'key' logo, which is a reverse of the coat of arms for the city of Bremen. The beer is brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot, the German Purity Law of 1516.

While the brand's heart and original brewery remain in Bremen, its global expansion led to varied manufacturing locations. For many years, Beck's was brewed under license in markets like the United Kingdom and Australia, and notably, US production was moved to St. Louis after its acquisition. However, following consumer feedback regarding the authenticity of the product, manufacturing for certain markets has often shifted back to its German roots or is managed via regional hubs owned by the parent conglomerate.

Today, Beck's is a flagship brand within the portfolio of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world's largest brewing company. AB InBev was formed through a series of massive mergers involving Interbrew, AmBev, and Anheuser-Busch, resulting in a Belgian-headquartered multinational that controls a significant portion of the global beer market.
