Dafalgan is one of Europe's most prominent over-the-counter and prescription paracetamol brands. Historically associated with clinical efficacy, it is widely utilized for pain relief and fever reduction. The brand was developed under the Swiss-founded pharmaceutical laboratory UPSA.

Over the decades, the ownership of the brand has transitioned through major global pharmaceutical entities. After being acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb in the late 20th century, UPSA and its flagship brand Dafalgan were eventually sold to the Japanese pharmaceutical leader Taisho Pharmaceutical. Production continues to be anchored in Western Europe to maintain strictly regulated quality standards.
