Köstritzer Edel Pils

Köstritzer Edel Pils is a premium German pilsner brewed by the Köstritzer Schwarzbierbrauerei, a historic brewery located in Bad Köstritz, Thuringia. While famously known for its black beer (Schwarzbier), the brewery also produces this bottom-fermented pilsner, which is crafted according to the German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot). The brewery's history dates back to 1543, making it one of the oldest in Germany, and it once enjoyed the prestigious status of a Princely Brewery under the House of Reuss.

Since 1991, the brewery has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bitburger Braugruppe, one of Germany's largest private brewery groups. The production remains centered at the original site in Bad Köstritz, ensuring the continuation of its regional brewing traditions while benefiting from the extensive distribution network of its parent company. The product is widely exported and maintains a strong reputation for quality in both domestic and international markets.
