Motorola is a household name in the telecommunications industry, originally founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1928 as the Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. The company pioneered the mobile phone industry, notably creating the first portable handheld mobile phone and the iconic RAZR series.

In 2011, the company split into two independent entities: Motorola Solutions and Motorola Mobility. Motorola Mobility (the consumer-focused phone division) was acquired by Google in 2012 and subsequently sold to Lenovo in 2014. Today, Motorola operates as a major subsidiary of Lenovo, focusing on high-quality Android smartphones. Production occurs globally, with major manufacturing hubs in China, along with regional factories in Brazil and India to serve local markets.
