Withings is a pioneering French consumer electronics company that specializes in health-focused technology. Founded in 2008 by Éric Carreel and Cédric Hutchings, the brand made its mark by developing the world’s first Wi-Fi scale and later expanding into hybrid smartwatches that blend traditional horology with medical-grade sensors. The ScanWatch collection, featured in the image, is known for its ability to track heart rate, sleep quality, and ECG metrics.

While the company was briefly acquired by Nokia in 2016 and rebranded as Nokia Health, Eric Carreel successfully bought the business back in 2018, returning it to its independent French roots. Today, Withings continues to operate as a leading health-tech firm headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. Although the design and software engineering take place in France, manufacturing for their smartwatches and digital health devices is primarily outsourced to facilities in China.
