Nocilla is an iconic Spanish brand originally created in 1968 by the Starlux company, inspired by the success of cocoa spreads elsewhere in Europe. Over the decades, it has become a staple of Spanish snacking culture.
The product shown is the 'Barritas Original', a wafer snack filled with cocoa and hazelnut cream. While Nocilla was part of the Nutrexpa group for many years, a corporate split in 2015 led to the creation of Idilia Foods, which now owns and manages the brand. The manufacturing is primarily carried out in Spain, with a major production facility located in Parets del Vallès, Catalonia. As of 2024 and beyond, Idilia Foods remain the ultimate owner, maintaining the brand's heritage as a national favorite in Spain.
